Magee, MS – Peoples Bank President and CEO Dennis Ammann is pleased to announce the promotion of Shannon Welch to Senior Retail Officer. Shannon brings over 32 years of experience with Peoples Bank, having served in a variety of roles, including Teller, Customer Service Representative, Loan Assistant, Loan Officer, and Branch Manager. Most recently, she held the position of Senior Vice President.

In her new role, Shannon will oversee operations across all Peoples Bank branches, focusing on team leadership, development, and operational excellence. She will also continue her work as a dedicated Loan Officer, serving customers from the Mendenhall Main Office. Shannon also serves on both the Loan Committee and the Management Committee, playing an active role in strategic decisions for the Bank.

“Shannon has shown unwavering commitment to Peoples Bank over the past three decades,” said CEO Dennis Ammann. “Her leadership, operational knowledge, and genuine care for our customers and team members make her a natural fit for this expanded role. We are confident that under Shannon’s guidance, our branch network will continue to thrive and deliver exceptional service to our communities.”

Shannon is a graduate of the Mississippi School of Banking, conducted at the University of Mississippi. She has also completed the Advanced Commercial Lending School in Jackson and the Leadership of Simpson County Program, further strengthening her skills in both lending and community leadership.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Shannon is deeply involved in civic and community activities. She is a member of the Mendenhall Business Women’s Club, a committee member of the MBA Women in Banking, serves on the boards of the Mendenhall Chamber of Commerce and the Simpson County Youth Leadership Program, and is an active member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, where she serves as Treasurer.

Shannon resides in Mendenhall with her husband, Allen. They have three daughters – Lauren, Meagan, and Lila – and one granddaughter, Lucy Anne
