Peggy L. McGuire, 83, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, due to complications from Covid-19.
She was born Thursday, August 6, 1936, in Magee Mississippi.
Graveside Funeral Service for immediate family and immediate friends will be held Thursday, June 4, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at Old Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. The burial will follow in Old Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Lonnie Mazingo will officiate.
Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031
She was preceded in death by her husband, G.D. “Mac” McGuire; parents, Eugie and Birdie Duckworth Layton; and one brother, Maurice Layton.
Survivors include one son, Thomas McGuire of Hattiesburg; two nephews, Blake Layton and wife, Maureen of Starkville and Dirk Layton and wife, Tammy of Magee; one niece, Anita Webb and husband, Bob of Forest; one sister-in-law, Ann Layton of Magee; and special friend, Brandy Blakeney.
Pallbearers will be Blake Layton, Dirk Layton, Bob Webb, Brian Layton, Ben Berry, and Mark Brown.
