Patricia Ann Gates passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2023, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was born October 19, 1958, to the late Joe R. and Hattie Ree (Nichols) Higgins.
Pat was a lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church in Mount Olive, MS. She loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and passed that on to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing with her grandsons, playing Bingo, and watching game shows. She was a loving wife to her husband, Robbie Gates for thirty-eight years and continued that love for him even after his passing. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Carrie Brown (Mark), Amanda Gates, and Kimberly Berry (Jason); brother, Charlie Higgins; ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.R. and Hattie Ree Higgins; husband, Robbie Gates; brother, Larry Higgins and sister, Merle Higgins Thornton.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The service will be on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at New Hope Baptist Church in Mount Olive, MS at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jimmy Arender officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Lee Berry, Jason Higgins, Joey Higgins, Kenny Higgins, Matthew Higgins, and Lane Shows.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
