Pat Brown, long time publisher of the Magee Courier and Simpson County News, celebrated retirement after 41 years in the news paper business.

Pat and his wife Nancy have been a part of the Magee and Simpson County landscape for thirty-two years.  The Browns “jumped right into” life in Magee.

Marlen Jones, the new publisher of the Magee Courier and Simpson County News, presents Pat Brown a token of remembrance.

“The newspaper actually belongs to the community,” stated Brown.  “The paper should be the heart and soul of the community.

Pat will not be “retiring” from life!  He begins a new job as the Executive Director of the Simpson County Development Foundation in January.

The respect and appreciation for Pat’s work was evident by the friends in attendance at the celebration

Tommy Meador, Rusty Slover, Robert May, Herman and Tesa Duckworth, Mark and Suzanne Grubbs, Diane McPhail, and Leslie Williams

Marlan Jones has been selected as the incoming publisher of the Magee Courier and Simpson County News.
