According to authorities, an estimated 300 barrels of oil has spilled into the Okatoma Creek.  Each barrel of oil contains 42 gallons which means 12,600 gallons emptied into the Okatoma.

A team will walk the banks of the Okatoma, Friday, February 19, 2016 for six miles from Hwy 28 to Saratoga in search of any oil build up.

The spilled was discovered around 1:30 PM Tuesday and is believed to have been leaking for almost 12 hours.

Trace amounts of oil are already visible from the Okatoma bridge on Coats Road.

The cleaning of the oil spill will take approximately seven days.

As more information becomes available, we will update.
