Oh What a Night! Election 2019

Tuesday night election returns proved to be a nail biter for several Simpsom County Supervisor races.  MageeNews.com received the final tally around 10:15 Tuesday night.  District 1 was won by Mitchell Chatman.  Mitchell defeated incumbent  Curtis Skiffer 345 to 333.  The two men were close all night and until the absentee ballots were counted no clear winner was known.  In District 2, incumbent Danny Craft defeated Allen Maddox 568 to 471.  District 3 Supervisor Brian Kennedy was unopposed.  In District 4, Donny Welch won in the first primary in August and will face Harry Williams in the November election.  In District 5, incumbent Randy Moore  defeated Dean Barnard 741 to 728./

Simpson County supported Tate Reeves with a vote of 2,698 (57.7%) to Bill Waller’s 1974 (42.22%).  Tate Reeve will face Jim Hood in the November general election.

Although Lynn Fitch won the over-all primary election for Attorney General, Andy Taggart carried Simpson County.  Taggart—2,345 . Lynn Fitch—2173.
