Sandy May Bynum is a product of Magee, Mississippi!  She spent her years on Trojan field as a Trojan Miss.  She spent her time as a DJ on WSJC.  She spent her time attending First Baptist Church.  Sandy was a Magee girl through and through.

As with many  people, her path led her from Magee to areas all over Mississippi and now to settling in Elba. Alabama.  She is the executive award winning director of the Elba Chamber of Commerce where she also serves as the Main Street Coordinator.  Sandy received her undergraduate degree at USM and her masters at Ole Miss.

Sandy is the mother of one son, Jerrod Lee of Magee and  grandmother to two…and friend to many!
Growing up, we called her Sandra.  She eventually changed her name to Sandy….which by the way, really fits her personality.  She is probably one of the most positive people I have ever known.  She set goals and reached them!
I adored her mama, Charlene a hairdresser for years.  Following her time “fixing hair,” she became the greeter at Walmart…and one of the best!  Her daddy, Buster, was a gifted painter.
Sandy keeps up with the happenings in Magee.  Check out this picture she posted on FB this past week.  This is in 1967-68.
I know almost everyone in this picture. Sandy is on the second row in the middle. I am on the first row on the end, Tawesia Meador next, Wanda Evans Boyles, and Pam McAlpin. Name those girls! Note: we are all wearing dresses or skirts…NO Pants!
