SUBJECT: COVID-19 Delivery & Retail Information for the 39111 area
Good afternoon,
My name is Tricia Barr, Postmaster at the Magee Post Office in Magee MS. I would like to update you on the current US Postal Service’s delivery and retail operations. The US Postal Service is continuing normal operations while the nation deals with the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) situation. Our customers are depending on us so we can continue to deliver for our country. We will continue to deliver our customer’s mail, medicine, groceries, and supplies 6 days a week. Our retail operations will remain the same as normal retail window hours which are currently Monday-Friday 8:30AM to 4:30PM and Saturday 8:30AM to 10:30AM. There has been no reduction of retail nor delivery operations.
It is important to know that the Postal Service is a part of the critical infrastructure of this community. We are providing an essential public service of the federal government for the American people. With the current local city curfew in place, we are asking that our employees keep their Postal Service issued identification badge with them at all times in case they are stopped by the local or state law enforcement. The employee can then explain the nature of their work for the Postal Service and the reason why they are traveling during the prohibited hours.
We will continue to work with federal, state, and local authorities to ensure our operations are conducted in a safe manner. If anyone has a question or concern about our operations please give me a call at 601-849-3445 or on my cell at 601-954-9844.
(Sue note: We have an awesome post office in Magee! Thanks to the postmaster, clerks, and carriers. Ya’ll are awesome!)
