JACKSON, Miss. – State Auditor Shad White’s office participated in a joint investigation which led to the arrest and prosecution of George Nangah, former town clerk of Coldwater in Tate County. Details about the case can be found in a press release issued by the United States Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Mississippi.
“I’m grateful that we have already been able to collect $50,000 of the over $200,000 that Mr. Nangah stole. He is also here in our country illegally, and the proper authorities have been made aware,” said State Auditor Shad White.
In addition to federal crimes, Nangah still faces a sentencing hearing after entering a guilty plea for state crimes in November 2019.
