Mississippi Farmers Market in Jackson Will Close on Saturday, February 20

JACKSON, Miss. – Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson announced the Mississippi Farmers Market in Jackson will close its doors this Saturday, February 20, due to inclement weather. The Market will resume its normal operating hours next Saturday, February 27.

“Many of our vendors notified us they would not be able to participate Saturday morning due to travel conditions, and some vendors would not have products due to managing the demands of the weather earlier this week. That combined with the anticipated temperature in our Covid modified layout necessitated closing for this Saturday,” said Commissioner Gipson. “I ask that everyone stay warm this Saturday and come out to the Market next weekend for all the fresh produce and treats they enjoy.”

The Mississippi Farmers Market, a division of the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce, is open every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. For additional information about the Mississippi Farmers Market, visit, download the Mississippi Farmers Market mobile app, or visit Mississippi Farmers Market on Facebook. is an online news source serving Simpson and surrounding counties as well as the State of Mississippi.
