Magee’s Mayor Dale Berry shared the following information during the Board of Alderman meeting Tuesday, May 21, 2019.
Pot hole patrol will start Wednesday, May 22, 2019. If anyone sees potholes that need attention please call city hall. (601-849-3344)
Mike Garner, city employee, was recognized for his hard work with the City of Magee.
Magee’s Farmer’s Market will start Saturday, May 25, 2019. The market will be located in the parking lot beside the community center. Applications to sell at the market can be picked up at city hall.
Mayor Berry advised there was a great turn out for the Junior College Softball tournaments. The tournaments were moved to Magee because Magee had the only fields in the state that were dry following the excess rains. According to Berry, a lot of action took place at the field on Monday. The Junior College Softball tournament plus Magee High School baseball, who was playing for South State, played at the same time.
Mayor Berry advised he had spoked with Senator Chris Caughman. The city should start seeing benefits of internet sales tax in July. The grant money designated for the lagoon should be available in October.
Ralph Brown with American Legion presented the City of Magee a plaque. The Mayor is seeking someone to run the operations of the American Legion.
