Goodwater Baptist Church has called Matt Harrison as their Youth Director. Matt and his wife Maggie live in Magee.
I interviewed Matt on Wednesday, October 14, 2020….and just let me tell you…Matt is awesome! I have known Matt for several years and he is truly a man of God. The youth at Goodwater will be richly blessed! Brother Jason Webb, pastor of Goodwater, told me how excited he was that Matt was joining the staff.
Matt was homeschooled until his junior year. He transferred from home to Simpson Academy and immediately became an integral part of the school. Following graduation from Simpson, Matt signed a baseball scholarship with Meridian Community College. After Community College, he continued his baseball career graduating from UAM (University of Arkansas at Monticello).
Matt loves duck hunting! He and his brother Michael began taking pictures of their hunts and soon became an Instagram hit! Matt’s love for photography has brought him into another career. Matt and Maggie now take pictures for people all over! Maggie handles the hair and make-up (she is a former beauty queen!). Matt takes the pictures.
Matt is the youngest of 6 children. He has four sisters and Michael! Many of you probably know one of Matt’s sisters, Britany Harper (the R&F lady).
