Martha P Rushing, 91, of Magee, Mississippi, passed from this life Tuesday September 3, 2019 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Magee, Mississippi. She was born Monday, May 28, 1928.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. The interment will follow in Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Michael Giles will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031
Martha worked alongside her husband for many years in the grocery business in Brookhaven, was manager of Lee’s Outlet in Magee and owner of Douglas Diamonds. She was a faithful member of Goodwater Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by Parents, Walter and Effie Pennington, Husband of 53 years, Dewey Rushing, Grandson, Christopher Rushing, Sister, Lydia Allen, Daughter-in-law, Mary Rushing.
Survivors include Children, Dewey “Pete” Rushing, Janice Roberts and Husband Kenneth Hutchison, Gregory Rushing, Grandchildren, Scott Rushing, Billy Roberts, Ricky Lichte, Joseph Rushing, Michael Confer, Andrew Rushing, and Hallie Cook. Thirteen Great-grandchildren, Three Great-great-grandchildren, Sister, Betty Johnson, Brother-in-law, Kenneth Rushing and wife Fran, Daughter-in-law Marjorie Confer.
