Thursday, March 21, 2024, was a beautiful “Make it Magee” night as the members and guest of the Magee Chamber of Commerce celebrated another successful year.  The driving force behind the banquet is Tiffany Kinslow and here “worker bees” the Chamber board.

Blueberry Peace Farm

Blueberry Peace Farm was lovely…almost like a shinning gem in the dark.  The tablescapes, courtesy of area business, were breath taking.  We have some talented people in our city.

Outgoing President Tiffany Kinslow welcomed members and guest.  Pastor Edgar Lee presented the invocation.  Police Chief Shane Little led in the Pledge of Allegiance and Merica Kalman sang the National Anthem.

Music was proved by Vintage 601.

The delicious dinner was served buffet style.  Leman Cockrell and his crew prepared the meal.

A Bicentennial Historical Skit entertained the crowd with information of our past 200 years.  The skit will be presented again during the 2-week Magee period (April 13-21).

Following Tiffany’s presidential remarks, Nick Lee, Simpson Academy Headmaster, introduced the Star Student and teacher for Simpson Academy.  Star student is Cole Crace.  The Star teacher is Cole’s former sixth grade teacher, Mrs. Tawesia Meador.  Gregory Maddox of Magee High School presented the Star student and Star student:  Logan Chapin student and Jeffrey Sanford teacher.

Mayor Dale Berry updated happenings in Magee.  The Mayor announced that new automatic water meters are to be installed within the coming months.  He updated the City Park project as well as the improvements at the Tennis Courts.  Mayor Berry explained the tax advantage the city has because of the Sportsplex which continues to host games almost every night and weekend.

A new addition this year was a Chamber Scholarship for Magee and Mendenhall students.  Magee High School Kaitlyn Hayes and SCA student Jordan Sullivan received the honor.
