Members of Magee Fire Department made a surprising announcement before the Board of Alderman Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Magee Fire Department received news from the Mississippi State Rating Bureau that all the hard work and long hours of determination had paid off and Magee was moving from a class 6 fire department to a class 5. Citizens of Magee will see a decrease in premium on their homeowners insurance.
Magee is a volunteer fire department and this classification is a major accomplishment. Magee has a hard working and dedicated fire department. Citizens of Magee are thankful and fortunate to have them. The department will enjoy and digest the success, but for this department it does not stop here. Magee is determine to push forward even more. Magee now will set a new goal to become a class 4. This will not happen over night, but ground work will start now to work toward moving to even a better class rating in the future.
