The Magee Board of Alderman held their monthly regular scheduled meeting, Tuesday, May 17, 2016.
Mayor, Jimmy Clyde, called meeting to order.
Minutes were approved.
Decision on the splash pad were to reject bids submitted due to high cost and decided to reopen advertisement for bids again.
Voting delegates for the MML Convention are Mayor Jimmy Clyde, Eddie Loftin, and Patrick Brown.
City Pool is scheduled to open Tuesday, May 30, 2016 the day after Memorial Day. Same Lifeguards will be returning for work in addition to one new lifeguard.
Under new business the claims docket was approved.
Chief Randy Crawford, asked permission for Shane Fewell to attend Advance Roadside Impairment. Free Class May 25 and 26, 2016 in Grenada, MS. Also asked for Landon Ates to attend a ROCIC, class in Hoover, AL narcotics training $125.00 July 18, 19, 20, 2016.
In Fire department matters, Charlie Valadie asked permission to attend a fire coordinator class June 29 and 30, 2016 at no cost.
Mayor Clyde recognized the police department for Magee being 6th safest city.
With no further business meeting was recessed to go into executive meeting to discuss legal matters.
