Lula Mae Bridges McMillan, 94, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
Mrs. McMillan worked as a seamstress at Arnold Apparel in Magee for 50 years. Her family was her love and joy. An excellent cook, she loved preparing meals for them; her specialties included stovetop cornbread, chicken and dumplings, and vegetables from her garden.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Susan) McMillan of Madison; daughter-in-law, Janice (Joe) Barnes; two grandchildren, Teresa (Jimmy) Thomas, Tracey (Jim) Harrison; and three great-grandchildren, Sydney Thomas, Wesley Thomas, and Bridges Harrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy “R.T.” McMillan; parents, Johnny Bridges and Beulah Lee Bridges; sister, Margie Bridges Griffith; and brothers, Jessie James Bridges, John Dick Bridges, Buck Bridges, and J.M. Bridges.
Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee followed by a memorial service. Final resting place will be in Magee City Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Baptist Medical Center and Hospice Ministries for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Blvd., Ridgeland, MS 39157.
