Laura Smith Abbott passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at UMMC in Jackson, MS. She was born on October 12, 1952, to Harold Smith and Roma Ree McLendon in Mendenhall, MS.
She is retired from working at the MS Baptist Children’s Village. Laura enjoyed reading her Bible. She loved everyone and would help anyone she could. She helped raise several children at the village and adored every one of them she met.
She is survived by her son, Matthew Abbott (Stormee) and grandchild, Justin Abbott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Roma Smith and late husband Austin Abbott.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
