Joseph Cook Jr, 26, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 10, 2024, from an automobile accident on Highway 49. He was 26 years old.
His family knew him as a kind and loving son, father, grandson, brother, and uncle who adored his family. Growing up throughout school, he played baseball. As he got older, he helped coach city league ball. He was a die-hard New Orleans Saints fan and loved watching them play.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Rachel Cook; mother and father, Brandy and Ray Pickering; son, Landon Cook; daughters, Taylor Cook, Scarlett Cook, Peighton Cook, Riverleigh Cook; maternal grandmother, Donna Keys; paternal grandmother, Linda Cook; sisters, Molly Staines (Will), Marissa Cook (Matt), Janada Cook; nephew, Stetson Staines and niece, Blaykleigh Johnson McNair.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carl Traxler, and paternal grandfather, Mike Cook.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Tutor Funeral Home, 3035 Hwy 13 S Mendenhall, MS from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 13, at Tutor Funeral Home with Bro. Timmy Carlisle and Bro. Earl Clark officiating.
Pallbearers will be Molly Staines, Marissa Cook, Brent McNair, Bubba Hobbs, Chase Booth, and Baylee Booth.
The honorary pallbearers will be Adam Toney, Ray Pickering, Matt Abraham and Will Adcock.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
