The passage of Scripture chosen for today is found in Ephesians 2:13: “Now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.” We know that God’s chosen people were the Jews; however, with the birth of God’s Son Christ Jesus, and through His death and resurrection, a new covenant was formed, and we Gentiles were “grafted on.” We who were once “far away” were “brought near” by the price Jesus paid for all mankind. So, with that greatest of gifts freely bestowed upon us, does it not behoove us to accept Him humbly and with great thanksgiving? “Jesus paid it all. All to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain. He washed it white as snow.” Amen!
