Sometimes I just get sick of seeing food recipes on FB…I mean really, I don’t need to be thinking about food…and I sure don’t need to prepare…but sometimes a recipe comes along…and it is a sure-fire winner!
Monday night, I hosted my bonco group! Well, I almost had a nervous breakdown trying to figure out what to serve! Of course, I went with homemade beef soup…very easy for me to make and I don’t usually mess up soup!!!
But I wanted a “beautiful” dessert. Judy Thornton came to the rescue. Below is her hot curried fruit recipe which can be served alone or as a topping on a pound cake…I went the “topping” route.
Judy said she has been making this for years…the fruit dish is beautiful….and quite tasty. I thought ya’ll might enjoy!
Soon, we will begin Food Blogging on MageeNews.com. If you would like to participate…just email me…and we’ll discuss! I would love to have you…videos, pictures…or just a recipe!
Remember you can print this page by clicking on file on your computer and selecting “Print”……The dish is so colorful!!!
Judy Thornton’s Hot Curried Fruit
1 can sliced peaches (regular size unless you want to double!)
1 can sliced peaches
1 can chunk pineapple
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 stick butter
1 gar cherries
Curry power (in the spice section…use a dab!) to taste
Drain all the fruit. I tried to get all my fruit “in its own juice.”
Put the fruit in a large baking dish.
Melt butter and brown sugar…add curry and pour over fruit (do not stir)
Place in 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes.
This can be mixed and put in refrigerator until you’re ready to cook.
Great over pound cake or by itself!
Enjoy!
