The Jim Hood for Governor campaign issued the following statement.

The Jim Hood for Governor campaign announced Monday that it has accepted three statewide televised debates throughout Mississippi in October and urged Lt. Governor Tate Reeves to do the same.

The Hood for Governor campaign has agreed to the following debates:
“Since August 22 Jim Hood has called for three debates in different regions of the state as a way to reach as many voters as possible to discuss the issues important to them,” the campaign stated. “This will give different media outlets and different regions of the state a chance to participate. We hope Tate Reeves will agree to these debates across the state.”
A letter was sent to all media outlets on September 4 by the Hood campaign seeking debate proposals with a one-week deadline of September 11 to submit those proposals. After reviewing multiple submissions, the Hood campaign accepted the three listed here.
