Grand Re-Opening at 1192—Magee’s Walmart
After months of renovation, Magee’s Walmart is ready with a new look!
Store manager Eric Powell greeted the crowd as everyone was ready to celebrate months of work! Store Associate Louis McRae gave the invocation. Store Associate John Yates conducted the Flag ceremony. The famous Magee Elementary Show Choir led the National Anthem. Magee Mayor Dale Berry spoke on the importance of Walmart to Magee and surrounding areas. “Between Jackson and the coast only two cities have higher sales tax than Magee—Ridgeland and Hattiesburg,” stated Berry. Walmart employees over 200 people and is the largest sale tax contributor in the city.
The Magee Elementary Show Choir performed! The students do a fabulous job. One can tell the members enjoy entertaining the crowd …and the crowd joins in with the upbeat music.
Magee Chamber of Commerce President Lacye Evans enlighten the crowd on the history of Walmart in Magee. Long term associates Lisa King and Patricia Little were recognized for 35 years of service. “They’ve been here since the beginning,” stated Eric Powell.
Maddie Allen was recognized for the mural and painting she designed which is on display for everyone.
Store Manager Eric Powell presented the 5th Squad and Magee Volunteer Fire Department with a donation.
The Magee High School cheerleaders led the crowd in the Walmart cheer!
Following the ceremony, managers, store associates, and friends gathered for a formal ribbon cutting in front of the business.
