The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in Romans 10:10: “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Yes, it was the apostle Paul, who wrote the epistle to the Roman saints. He reminded them that God had established a new Covenant through the shedding of Jesus’ blood, His Son’s death, and His Son’s resurrection. No longer was the old Covenant in force. It relied on a list of laws and rules to live by and required a blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins. The new Covenant did not. It was of the heart and was forged and bound strictly between God and the new Christian convert. No blood sacrifice was needed. The same holds true for us today. God looks upon the hearts of mankind. Man looks upon the outward appearance. Who can discern the hearts of men? Only God. He is sufficient to supply all our needs. Turn your eyes upon Jesus; repent of your sins; rely solely on Him; then trust and obey the Lord of your life. Amen!
