Gary Vee Padgett (Hap/Bappaw), 84, of Magee, Mississippi, died Friday, April 13, 2018, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was born Tuesday, April 10, 1934.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Magee in Magee, Mississippi.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Magee in Magee. The Burial will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Bill Blair and Bro. Kenneth Roberts will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031)
Mr. Padgett was a member, deacon, and Sunday school teacher for 25 years at Pine Grove Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and shared him in every aspect of his life, witnessing through tracts and music.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Padgett and Ruth Padgett; Sister,Doris Druetta; Brothers, Harold Padgett and Delmos Padgett; and Father-in-law, C.W. Downs.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Sonja Padgett; Daughter, Wanda Ladner; Son, Mike Sellers; Grandchildren, Evan Sellers (Cheryl), Whitney Hankins (Matthew), and Jamie Hayman (Eli); Great-granddaughters Madisyn, Avery, and Brynlee Hankins, Brooklyn Sellers, Kinleigh Grace Hayman, and Mother-in-law; Linda Downs along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brian Kennedy, Josh Busby, Ronnie St. Amant, Jimmy Padgett, David Ware, Alex Hopkins, and Eli Jordan.
