Mississippi’s high rate of flu-like illness reports continues, increasing in the week from February 10–16. While flu affects all age groups, those 5 to 24 years old are currently reporting the most cases of flu-like illness. Nationally, the number of deaths from flu in those under 18 has risen to 41 – seven more than the week previous – including one Mississippi flu death in December.
