Staff Sergeant Christopher Hancock has flown (5) tours in Afghanistan and wanted to honor his former U. S. History teacher, Mr. Jimmy Riley, by presenting one of the United States Flags to Mize Attendance Center in his memory. This flag was flown in OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. This flag is accompanied by a certificate signed by all crew members during honorable flights on the AC 130H Spectre Gunship from February- April 2011 in support of Special Operations Forces over Afghanistan.
Mr. Hancock states, “We are all proud parents of our children and we are especially honored for teachers like Jimmy Riley to make an impact on them.” This flag and certificate was presented by Staff Sargent Hancock’s father to Mr. Riley’s sons, James and John Riley during a pre-game ceremony at the first game of round one playoffs. Also pictures is Coach Adam Dyess and Mrs. Susan Riley Walker.
Mize defeated West Lincoln Friday evening at home and will meet them in game two Saturday at West Lincoln.
