Executive Director of the MS Fair Commission Terminated

Agriculture Commissioner Andy Gipson issued the following statement:

“Today, the Mississippi Fair Commission voted to terminate the employment of executive director Steve Hutton.

 The Fair Commission has an experienced staff in place to continue operations at the Fairgrounds. The construction of the new Trade Mart and the installation of new Coliseum seats both continue, as does the partnership with UMMC and the Mississippi Department of Health to provide a convenient and safe location for a  COVID-19 testing facility.”

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation issued the following statement:

Special Agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation working in conjunction  with the Madison Police Department, have arrested a Madison man charging him with Promoting  Prostitution.

Stephen L. Hutton, 54, of Madison, was charged Wednesday afternoon and was booked into the Madison  County Detention Center. MBI agents and detectives with the Madison Police Department developed  information which led to the arrest. Hutton remains in custody awaiting his initial appearance.
