Dorris J. Cook Shows, 85 of Mendenhall, MS went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Magee General Hospital in Magee, MS. She was born Sunday, September 1, 1940.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 11:00 am at New Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall, MS. Bro. Mike Sills and Bro. David Bryant will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
She was preceded in death by her husband, Farley Shows; father, Carroll Cook; and mother, Annie Ruth Derrick Cook.
Survivors include her son, Douglas Vanderford (Sandy); nephews, Tim Jones (Linda), Ralph Shows (Vickie), David Bryant (Sue), Preston Jones (Mary) and Scott Haggarty (Kim); nieces, Krista Shelby (Ron), Sheila Gunnell (Nick), Charlotte Allen and Jacque Purvis (David).
