The Simpson County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday, January 3, 2023.  The first order of business was electing a President and Vice President for the new term.  Donny Welch was named President and Mitchell Chapman Vice President.

 

Buddy Wolverton, County Engineer, reported the status of State-Aid & LSSBP as of December 31, 2022

Sheriff Paul Mullins submitted the following invoices for approval.

Approval was granted to hire Dorian Dampeer as a dispatch new fire full time certified.

Approval was given for Angie Walker, Annette Turner, and Phillip Allan to attend Legal Concepts in 911. The date is January 20, 2023 8:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m. at the Simpson County E-911 office at a cost of $150.00 each for a total of $450.00.

Tax Assessors Jamie Brewer presented the tag surrender list and changes to the 2022 real and personal property rolls.

Road Manger Ben Warren presented his report for approval. Warren was granted permission at his request to hire Kevin Pitts to operate the Bush Hog.

The board approved the issuances of 5-year notes in accordance with Section 17-21-51/55 to borrow funds to pay for the Courthouse project instead of a 10-year bonds to reduce debt issuance costs for the county.

The board approved for Ben Warren and Randy Moore to attend the auction sale of county equipment in March 2023.
