David Eugene Young, Jr., 50, of New Hebron, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at his home in New Hebron, Mississippi. He was born Monday, July 21, 1969.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall, Mississippi.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall, Mississippi. The burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in New Hebron, Mississippi. Bishop Gary Longo will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601) 847-4401

Mr. Young, Jr. was a member of Trinity Gospel Fellowship.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle.  He enjoyed spending time with his grands.  He was known as a person that never met a stranger and was a friend to all.  He enjoyed riding his bike and sport cars.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyliss Berry.

Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, Nikki Young of New Hebron; three children, Lauran Scherretz (Zachary) of McComb, Deanna Young (Jeremy Byrd) of Flowood, David (Trey) Young III of Hattiesburg; fathers, Thomas Berry (Catina) of New Hebron and David Young, Sr. (Sandy) of Missouri; grandmother, Merle Berry of New Hebron; three grandchildren, Brantley (Matthew), Rose (His Beautiful Rose), and Donald (Phillip); mother-in-law, Barbara Sutton of Florence; one sister, Tina Peters of Arkansas; one brother, Adam Young of Jackson; two sister-in-laws, Regina Beavers of Pearl and Melissa MacNeill of California; one brother-in-law, Jamie Beavers of Pearl; three nieces, Lindy Spears of Arkansas, Crystal Beavers of Pearl and Bri MacNeill of California; three nephews, Cedric Mallett of Pearl, Dawayne Beavers II of Pearl and Rory MacNeill of California; and a host of friends.
