Danny Joe Sullivan passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Merit Health in Flowood, MS, with his family by his side. He was born on June 7, 1952, in Magee, MS, to JM Sullivan and Bradys Sullivan.
A true cowboy, Danny Joe was one that you would never forget. He was always sharing stories you could believe at your own discretion, helping any person and animal he could, and most always found in boots, even when swimming.  He enjoyed riding horses, singing or karaoke, and being involved with the Mt. Olive Dixie National Wagon Train Trail Ride, which he and his father started many years ago. On most Saturdays, you could find him at the horse sale, Zip’s, or the Hamburger House. He loved helping and spending time with his son, Peyton, in his construction business. He adored his grandchildren, and they loved him too.
Danny Joe is survived by his son, Peyton Sullivan (Madeline); daughters, Samantha Sullivan, Candace Green (Bryan), Caitlin Sullivan (Joey), Bayle Tutor (Josh); brothers, Tommy Sullivan, Randy Sullivan; sister, Becky Kilpatrick; and grandchildren, Austin Sullivan, John Sullivan, Adison Evans, Carter Evans, Layla Evans, Jackson Duckworth, Rhett Sullivan, Rivers Sullivan, Tate Tutor, Benton Wallace, Lillie Jo Wallace and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, JM Sullivan and Bradys Sullivan Grubbs; son, Jamie Sullivan; and stepmother, Florine Sullivan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church, 152 Calvary Church Road, Mt. Olive, MS 39119, from 12:00 until 2:00 pm. Bro. Seth Sullivan will officiate the service at 2:00 pm, and interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Carter Evans, Thomas Hall, Austin Sullivan, Jeffrey Sullivan, Joey Sullivan, and John Sullivan.
Honorary pallbearers are Dale Bowen, Buddy Cruise, Chris Hall, Jack Smith, Dempsey Sullivan, Gary Sullivan, and Ted Sullivan.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
