The City of Magee and the Magee Fire Department were each given 1,050 9 -volt batteries to be distributed for use in smoke detectors.
Evelyn Copeland of Keep Simpson County Beautiful presented the batteries to Alderman Whitney Baker, Mayor Dale Berry, and Chris Purdum.
