On Wednesday, November 11, 2020, under the direction of Joe Worrell, the city hosted a program honoring the veterans of Simpson County at the Civic Center.

Joe Worrell, Jimmy Clyde, Mayor Dale Berry, and Representative Price Wallace

Mayor Dale Berry welcomed those in attendance.  Former Mayor Jimmy Clyde gave the opening prayer.  Joe Worrell  led in the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem.

Following Representative Price Wallace’s speech, the Armed Forces Medley was played.  As the song from each branch of the service was played, veterans stood honoring their division.

Upon arrival, each veteran signed up for the Door Prize drawing

Joe Worrell, assisted by Jimmy Clyde, began the drawing for the door prizes.  (Probably one of the favorite parts!). Each of the thirty-six veterans present received a  prize.
