During the Magee Board of Alderman meeting Tuesday, November 19, 2019 Wenger Grass Service was award the bid for grass cutting along Hwy 49 in Magee. Wenger was the only bid received during the bidding process. The highway project was awarded for a price of $39,600.00 annually for three years.
Peacock was award the lawn service for McNair Springs. Peacock was the cheapest bid received at $2800.00 annually for three years.
The city only budgeted $43,000 for the grass cutting projects. The other locations within the city YMCA, Washington Park and the Cemetery will continue to be maintained by the city employees.
Hopes of freeing up city employees from the two largest projects will help allow other projects to be completed within the city.
