The Magee Christmas parade sponsored by the Magee Chamber of Commerce
The Magee Chamber of Commerce pulled off another great and successful Christmas parade. The theme for this year was a Charlie Brown Christmas. There were over 65 entries in the parade not including law enforcement or fire trucks. Chamber members reported placing vehicles, lining floating and directing traffic early to make sure parade would be successful. (More on the parade)
1st Place winner of the floats was The Vault.
Second Place winner was the Magee Courier.
Third Place winner was Mt.Zion Christian Academy.
Boy’s Scouts Troop 81 & Club Scout Pack 81 led the start of the parade!
The grand Marshall for the parade was Dr. Paul Lawrence, principal at Magee Elementary School. Dr. Lawrence was chosen earlier in the year as Outstanding Citizen.
Magee’s Miss Hospitality Ashyln Johnston took place in the parade as well.
Spirit of Magee Keilah Berry made an appearance along with Mayor Dale Berry and Board of Alderman.
Four bands made appearances; Magee High School, Puckett High School, Mendenhall Band and Magee Middle School.
Co-Lin had several entries. Colin’s mascot, the Wolf, made an appearance and greeted the children along the parade route. Members of staff participated and well as student organizations groups.
Numerous floats, cheerleaders, football, baseball teams, dance, and beauty queens all took part in the parade.
And of course no parade would be complete without a visit from good Ole St. Nick.
