On this part of this series, I want to focus on Magee Chamber of Commerce Board of Director, Diane McPhail.

Everyone will probably remember that Ms. Diane used to serve as the Chamber President back in 2013. I have loved having Diane on the board. I must say, I felt a little intimidated leading a board with someone who succeeded as a president herself. Diane has been nothing but supportive and has helped guide me in this role.

To list of the contributions that Diane has given to the chamber would be endless. I could always count on her to be at every single meeting and function we have hosted. Diane helped collect tickets at both this years “Tea in the Gardens” and “Mr. and Mrs. Crazy Day Pageant”. Diane was also one of the first board members to show up at 4:30 am in the freezing cold to help with Crazy Day. Diane has shown outstanding loyalty and commitment to this Chamber and to the City of Magee. No matter the task, Diane McPhail will always be there to help in any way possible.

I also want to mention that Diane has one of the most caring and loving hearts a person could have. A long time ago, when I was just a young whippersnapper, I lived right across the street from Ms. Diane. Some of my fondest memories of my child hood was visiting with her on Sundays after church. Every Sunday my brother and I would go and play her old super Nintendo for hours. Diane always welcomed us kids, even though we would play games until our mom had to walk across the street and drag us home. Sam and I didn’t have any grandparents that lived close by, so we really loved having that sort of relationship with her. Diane always made us feel like family. Her kindness and generosity is something I know everyone in Magee will always praise her for.

Diane has given the Chamber so many good ideas and so much of her time. The hard work and dedication she has put forth this year is a true testament to her character. Ms. Diane was even the one who came up with the idea to elect Louise Windham and Michael Dunn as the Grand Marshalls for this year’s Christmas Parade. Diane’s heart and soul are in Magee and I am truly grateful to have worked alongside her this year.

Thank you Ms. Diane for all that you do for the Chamber and the City of Magee.
