Carrol Hankins, 77 of Taylorsville, Mississippi passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Monday, August 13, 1945.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church at 2807 Hwy 37, Raleigh, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church in Raleigh, Mississippi. The burial will follow in Unity Methodist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Bro. Rich Ables and Bro. Sidney Davis will officiate. Special music will be provided by Mr. Garland Smith and Mrs. Nikki Gilpin. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564
Mr. Carrol was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Raleigh, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, cousin, and friend. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, working on his farm taking care of his cows, but most of all spending time with his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clinton Bryant Hankins; mother, Effie Mae Looney Hankins; brothers, James Harold Hankins and Jimmy Dale Hankins; and sister, Pearl Grace Hankins Robinson.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Elaine Smith Hankins; one daughter, Connie Hankins Atwood (Kerry) of Taylorsville, MS; four grandchildren, Kelsey Atwood Munoz (Ryan) of Taylorsville, MS, Katie Atwood Nunez (Jiuver) of Taylorsville, MS, Connor Atwood of Taylorsville, MS and Cade Atwood (Brook) of Taylorsville, MS; eight great-grandchildren, Carson McCord of Taylorsville, MS, Avery Munoz of Taylorsville, MS, Liam Munoz of Taylorsville, MS, Tristen Perry of Taylorsville, MS, Zoey Perry of Taylorsville, MS, Vidalia Atwood of Taylorsville, MS, Willow Atwood of Taylorsville, MS and Clayton Atwood of Taylorsville, MS; three sisters, Alice Hankins Overland of Ellisville, MS, Johnnie Nell Hankins Lee of Jackson, MS, and Helen Hankins Gateley of Taylorsville, MS; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Guy Gateley, Kerry Atwood, Connor Atwood, Cade Atwood, Dawayne Smith, and Donovan Smith.
