Carolyn M. Hughes, 81 of Magee, Mississippi passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 at her home in Magee, MS. She was born Thursday, January 21, 1943 in Simpson County, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee, 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Burial will follow in Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Joanna Barnes will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
Mrs. Hughes enjoyed a long career in the nursing field. Her many years of service included South Mississippi Home Health, Magee General Hospital, Millcreek Rehab Center, and she retired from Boswell Regional Center as the Director of Nursing.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gamble McWilliams; mother, Annie Mae B. Dvorak; step-father, Eugene F. Dvorak; brother, Paul E. McWilliams; sisters, Marie L. Welch and Faye McWilliams; great- grandchild, Peyton H. Bounds.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Gerald Hughes; son, Paul C. Hughes (Kathy); daughter, Sharon H. Rowell (Alton); grandchildren, Michael K. Wade (Rebecca), Garrett P. Hughes, Ashley K. Robichaux (Garett) and Grace E. Procopio (Dominick); great grandchildren, Mycah N. Wade, Gabriel K. Wade, Elizabeth G. Barrett (Ian), Louis F. Robichaux and Josephine Corinne Robichaux; and a host of family members.
