In honor of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Mississippi Tuberculosis Sanatorium and later, Boswell Regional Center, Boswell’s Friends and Family Association donated a magnolia tree to the City of Magee to show appreciation for the city’s donation of 200 acres and $2,000 to build the Sanatorium, which opened in 1918. For the past 100 years, hundreds of Magee residents have been employed at either the Sanatorium or Boswell. Both centers forged strong partnerships with the city and its leaders, a relationship hat continues today.
