The Simpson County Board of Supervisors accepted the bid from AMR (American Medial Response) ambulance at a price of $60,000.
The following bids were submitted: AMR/AMGH submitted a proposed bid of $60,000. The bid included 3 ambulances and 1 reserve ambulance for the county with helicopter service starting 10/1/2018. The second bid was from ASAP for $75,000 which allowed 4 ambulances and helicopter service. The last bid was from Pafford for $400,000 which offered 3 ambulance an one helicopter service.
The bid approval did not come without heated discussion. (see video)
Several AMR employees were present and voiced their concerns.
