Billy Leroy Watts, 88, was called home from this life on Friday, July 24, 2015, at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello, MS. Mr. Watts was born November 5, 1926 in Lawrence County to Roy B. Watts and Pearl Summers Watts. Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS on Sunday July 26, 2015 at Wilson Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continuing on Monday July 27, 2015 from 9AM until time of service at 10:00AM .The graveside service will follow in Monticello Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello, MS. Bro: Kenneth Roberts officiating the services. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Bill enlisted in the Navy in October 1943, was honorably discharged, then enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1947 and was honorably discharged 1959. Mr. Watts worked pipeline construction throughout the U.S. and overseas in Saudi Arabia until retiring in 1987. Bill`s enjoyments were his family, hunting, fishing and baseball. He was an avid hunter and loved spending time outdoors and spent many years coaching boy`s baseball. He was an original member of the “Tater Chip Gang” at local baseball events. He was a member of Monticello Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Lawrence County. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tom Ray Watts. Survivors are his wife: Mildred Mullins Watts of Monticello, MS, son Robert W. (Martha); daughter Elizabeth (Robert) Ard; grandchildren Mark Brister, Jason Brister, Joshua Ard, Anna Fortenberry, Travis Watts, Jeremy Watts and Luke Watts, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
