Billie Jean Hylender, 92 of Magee, Mississippi

Billie Jean Hylender, 92 of Magee, Mississippi passed away Monday, October 24, 2022 at her daughter’s residence in Easley, South Carolina. She was born Tuesday, March 18, 1930 in Mt. Olive, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Burial will follow in Sharon Presbyterian Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Bro. Lonnie Woods will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

Billie was saved at an early age and found great joy in serving the Lord. She loved her family and her dog Angel. Billie and her husband I.V. Hylender attended Mendenhall Church of God many years ago with Rev. Jo Walker as their pastor.  As years passed by Billie and I.V. were led of the Lord to begin the First Church of God in Magee at their home with Bro. B.L. Roberts as pastor.

Billie loved fishing, gardening, and cooking. She never met a stranger and made new friends wherever she went. Momma, Granny, Billie will be greatly missed. Billie Jean Hylender has joined her husband I.V. Hylender in heaven along with her two daughters Ruby Jean Wood, Linda Reece, and other family that have gone before her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, I.V.  Hylender;  daughters, Ruby  Wood, and Linda  Reece;  parents, Doc  Elias  Hall and  Eula  Lee  Cole  Hall;  two granddaughters and two grandsons;  fifteen siblings

Survivors include her daughter, Darleyne Hylender Stephens  (Shannon);  grandchildren, Lorie  Brumfield  (Jack ), Sarah  Stephens, David  Wood, Mechelle  Sullivan  (Joe), Brandon Reece, and Tim  Reece;  fifteen  great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren;  and a host of nieces  and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Wood, Justin Wood, Josh Wood, Jordan Sullivan, Devin Wood, and Darin Knowles.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Reece, Dustin Wood, and Ashton Wood.
