Bernice Anthony Walker Died September 30, 2016 at her home.

 

She was born Oct. 24, 1928 to L.C. and Myrtis Blount Anthony in Carson, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her Parents, two brothers, Thomas and L.C., Jr., sister Eloise Anthony, all of whom died as young children, sisters Myra Lowery and Lynda Stringer; and her husband W.F. Walker.

 

Left to cherish her sweet memory are her children: Ted and wife Pat, of Counce, Tennessee; Janice Golden and husband, Larry, of Raymond; Donald Walker and wife Gail of Magee; Kathy Wright and husband, Thad of Summit;  Bobby Walker and Billy Walker of Magee; and Lisa Evans and husband, Mike, of Raymond; grandchildren, Lance, Clark, Josh, Aaron, Jason and Nathan Walker; Chad Golden; Will Wright; Christopher Evans; Jana Wright Phillips, Lori Golden Miles, Belinda Wright, and Courtney Evans;  great-grandchildren. Cole, Cort, Jaxon, Mason, Bryson, Sabrina, Meagan, Elizabeth and Nicholas Walker; Grace and Micah Golden; Jaycie, Lydia and Alex Miles; Eloise and Edie Phillips; and John Carson Wright; two sisters-in-law, Nita Herrington and Sandra Walker of Jackson; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, She also leaves her faithful guard and companion, Blue.
She had been an active and faithful member of Corinth Baptist Church since she was a young bride. She loved the Lord and shared that love and her faith with all she knew. She was loving, kind and generous and it was almost impossible to end a visit to her home without taking something she had made or grown with you. Her Prayer each morning was that the Lord would make her a blessing to someone that day, and He certainly answered that prayer. Her hospitality extended to countless family members and guest throughout the years as she offered the bounty of her table to all. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She truly did let her light shine so that all could see her good works and glorify God.
Visitation will be Saturday October 1, from 5:00PM till 7:00PM and  again 1:00PM till service time at Corinth Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 2:00PM Sunday October 2, at Corinth Baptist Church.
Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in Charge of arrangements.
