This is a grassroots campaign for and by communities, the private sector and all levels of government. The goals are simple -we want people to: understand which disasters could happen in their community, know what to do to be safe, take action to increase their preparedness, and participate in community activities to increase their resilience. Being prepared is more important than ever.  We’ve seen some devastating disasters, but in the last two years nearly 70 percent of Americans have not participated in a preparedness drill or exercise, at their workplace, school, or home. We want to change that. On this site you’ll find step-by-step playbooks on how to host a group discussion and conduct an activity or drill. We also have videos and customizable material to help promote your event. Think about what hazard can impact your community and do something. Take the first step to being more prepared and register your activity at www.ready.gov/prepare.
