A long time, much loved and respected teacher, Ancie Ruth is survived by her husband Horace Milton “Sonny’ Riley Jr., of Magee. She is the proud mother of Angela Ruth Maddox (Allen Reed Jr.), also of Magee, and six grandchildren, Lindsey Lamar Maddox Meadows, (Pat), Allen Reed Maddox III, (Diana), Ezekiel Andrew Maddox, Benjamin Johnson Maddox, Annie Ruth Maddox, and Martha Grace (Gracie) Maddox. There are three great grandchildren, Jeffrey Allen Meadows, Maddie Ellen Maddox and Maely Reed Maddox. Ancie Ruth has one brother, Raymond Andrew Johnson (Diane) of Magee. She also has one stepson, Jonathan Riley (Robin) of Pearl River, LA. There are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including lifelong friend Janice Jones McGuire. Ancie was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Frances Small (Larry) of Dalzell, SC and her mother and father.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 26 2015, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, MS from 5 pm – 8 pm. Services are scheduled for 11am, Monday July 27 2015, at Corinth Baptist Church, Hwy. 28 West, Magee, MS. Reverends Dale Linton, Danny Dickerson, and Jay Wesbrooks will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mize, MS Cemetery, Hwy. 35 South, with special violin music presented by Laura Leigh McCoy Dobson.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Reed Maddox, Zeke Maddox, Ben Maddox and Pat Meadows, nephew Joseph Johnson, and longtime teacher friend Donald Walker.
Very special thanks for their kindness and support to the staff at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Dr. Frank Wade, Rev. Danny Dickerson, Kelly West and Gentiva Hospice.
