Caswell’s two children, ages six and two, were recovered and returned to the custody of Mississippi Child Protective Services.
Caswell was charged via a criminal complaint with one count of kidnapping. Caswell is scheduled for an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge John C. Gargiulo at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in United States District Court in Gulfport. If convicted, Caswell faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
Numerous law enforcement agencies assisted with the investigation and search for Caswell to include: Pascagoula Police Department, Mobile (AL) County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Forrest County Sheriff’s Office, Hattiesburg Police Department, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, FBI Jackson Field Office, FBI Mobile Field Office and several others.
