(Jackson, Mississippi) Attorney General Lynn Fitch today announced the sentencing of Jesse Wayne Lamb, Jr. of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, who was investigated and prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office for Child Exploitation relating to the possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
“Thanks to a tip to the Cyber Tipline,” said Attorney General Lynn Fitch, “we were able to stop a predator who had violated the innocence of hundreds of children. It is my hope that this case will serve as an important reminder to everyone to step forward if you suspect a child is being exploited. One call or report could begin the journey to justice for a young life and spare countless others from ever being abused.”
On Monday, November 13, 2023, Copiah County Circuit Court Judge Tomika Irving sentenced Lamb to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with 7 years to serve day for day without possibility of parole and 5 years post-release supervision for Child Exploitation relating to the possession of child sexual abuse material. Lamb will be required to register as a sex offender upon release.
The case originated with a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Upon investigation, General Fitch’s office discovered 7,000 images and videos of CSAM.
