Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson was joined by Dr. Swati Vijay Kulkarni, Consul General of India, and KV Kumar, Chairman and CEO of the National Indian American Chamber of Commerce (NIACC) to sign an agreement establishing the Mississippi Chapter of the National Indian American Chamber of Commerce. Surrounded by business and agricultural leaders from across the state, Commissioner Gipson, Consul General Dr. Kulkarni and Mr. Kumar formed the inaugural membership of the Mississippi Chapter to further strengthen and identify new opportunities for Mississippi’s agriculture, commerce, manufacturing, trade, and investment industries.
“Today is a historic day for the State of Mississippi. India is a major agricultural trade and economic partner for the state. I am looking forward to expanding business opportunities for the state and increasing markets for our agricultural commodities including timber through this partnership with the National Indian American Chamber of Commerce,” said Commissioner Gipson.
The NIACC works with governments, businesses and professionals to develop entrepreneurship and commerce. The agreement between the State of Mississippi and the NIACC will further the strategic partnership between the two entities and will foster new relations.
