The Scriptural passage for today is found in Proverbs 16:13: “Kings take pleasure in honest lips; they value a man who speaks the truth.” Read it again and again. Yes, Solomon himself was a king and was a righteous and wise ruler of men. He, to whom the Book of Proverbs is attributed, knew the value of wise counsel. In fact, his one request of God was to be granted wisdom. Wise rulers respect and exemplify honesty and integrity and rely on the truth. A good ruler will seek the truth and will surround himself with those known for speaking the truth and not yes-men. Let us be truth-bearers. In all our ways, we should promote the truth with the Word of God as our standard. Any other source is highly suspect and of man. Amen!
